Yes – there are some other notable advantages:

  • Load following – The turbine rotation speed at full power (72,000 RPM) gives significant scope to modulate with minimum efficiency loss. Combined with the modularity aspect this gives maximum flexibility.
  • Start-up speed – The microturbines can fire up in less than a minute, which is especially useful for meeting peak power requirements.
